Production designer Colin Baldwin created a spectacular looking lighting rig for the 40th Country Music Awards of Australia (CMAA) at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, NSW, Australia.
Twenty Robe LEDWash 300s were used on the main stage, hung on vertical bars upstage to light a glittering line-up of Australian country stars appearing onstage for the genre’s hottest and most glamorous annual event, attended by a capacity live audience of 5000.
Colin’s design served the dual purpose of being able to offer a whole set of distinctive and different looks and backdrops to each of the artists appearing, and also to deal with the quick changeovers of the fast-paced show.
The lights – together with the rest of the technical production - were supplied by HF Event Services in association with Norwest Productions, and were programmed and run for the Awards show by Richard Neville. Colin Baldwin also took on the role of production manager.
2012 Golden Guitar winners included Keith Urban and Beccy Cole and Adam Harvey, together with Shane Nicholson and O’Shea who also both performed live.
