Robe's Slovenian Distributor stages Open Day

MK Light-Sound in Slovenia held a recent 2 day Open Day event in Ljubljana to showcase their latest lighting, sound and production technology, with the newest Robe products taking centre stage.

The Open Day took place in Gospodarsko Razstavišče, the largest exhibition centre in Ljubljana, where MK hired a venue with 4 separate halls called Povodni Mož (underwater man).

Each hall was put to a different use.

Hall 3 featured the lighting demos and seminars, with MA Lighting, Robe lighting, Coolux, Spotlight and Laser Imagineering products presented. There was a wide variety of products in this room including Robe's DigitalSpot 3000DTs and the entire ROBIN series.

A total of 14 people represented different manufacturers, and 9 seminars (5 on lighting and 4 on sound) were conducted over the 2 days - repeated twice a day - to allow all visitors the chance to participate. Three of the lighting ones involved Robe staff - Harry von den Stemmen, Petr Vanek and Radim Žlebek.

Hall 1 hosted a series of audio seminars with representatives from Nexo, Camco, DAS Audio and MK's Marko Tomšič (Beyerdynamic and XILICA) giving presentations. There were also lots of products on show in this hall.

Hall 2 was used for an MA lighting seminar and training, which was attended by over 20 people. The seminar was held by Michael Strathmann.

Hall 4 was a chill out area, giving visitors the chance to get hands on with all the products on display - which included Robe ROBINS, ColorSpot 2500E ATs and CitySkapes . From MA Lighting there were the grand MA 2 light and ultra light consoles, and the latest media servers from Coolux.

Sound demos of DAS audio AERO12 and NEXO GEO S8 systems also took place during the event.

Over 200 people visited across the two days. The first day was concentrated on rental companies and second day for those working in theatres and at TV stations.

All visitors were impressed with the level of quality and the number of new products that MK could bring to Slovenia for them, and the after-show responses have been "Outstanding" reports MK's Dean Karov.
