The Perth Wildcats won the 2014 Australian National Basketball (NBL) League Championship – their sixth title - an amazing run of 28 straight playoff appearances.
Mega Vision Sound and Lighting supported the team throughout the entire 2013-2014 season, creating great production for every single match played at their home arena in Perth dubbed 'The Jungle'.
The lighting rig consisted of 12 x Robe Pointes, 8 x MMX Spots and 8 x LEDWash 800s, all from Robe’s ROBIN series.
The 14,846 seat Perth Arena is the largest and newest venue currently in use on the NBL circuit so using extremely bright and punchy lights were crucial to lighting the venue properly.
The Robe Pointes and MMX Spots were used for creating dynamic effects during the pre-game entertainment programme, the team run-ons, line-up and break times and also lighting up the wildly enthusiastic cheering audience.
The eight Robin 800 LED Washes easily bathed the whole playing court in deep saturated colours, creating great atmospheres for the matches.
The Perth Wildcats are the highest-drawing and most successful club in the League. Since 1987 the team has appeared in all 28 NBL finals, an achievement unmatched in any other major Australian professional sport … also bettering all the major American sports as well, apart from two National Hockey League clubs.
