The 2014 Ultra Music Festival was staged over two days at the Ciudad del Rock venue in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the main stage featuring 52 of Robe’s ROBIN Pointe fixtures provided by PRG Argentina, the lighting contractors for this high profile EDM event.
PRG also supplied technicians and operators to support a number of guest LDs who were lighting the various DJs and bands performing.
Names like Hardwell, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Borgore, Len Faki, Nicky Romero and Steve Aoki all played out show-stopping sets to hugely enthusiastic audiences, with a lighting scheme created by American company SJ Lighting Inc., that was slightly modified by Argentinian LD, Gaspar Potocnik.
Two riggers, six technicians and one director from PRG Argentina worked hard to set up the lighting before all the action began.
Gerardo Barcella, a director of PRG Argentina, says, “The Pointes performed really well! We have used them for numerous shows since they were purchased last year, and the various operators and producers have always been very happy”.
The console used for Ultra was a grandMA2 light, and all the technical production elements were supervised by locally based SPA Entertainment.
Shortly afterwards, PRG also supplied their Pointes for the Buenos Aires edition of ‘A State of Trance’.
